Fuels & Lubes Analysis
CWM offers a wide array of fuels, lubes and emissions screen testing. Specifically fuels and lubes testing as per ASTM methodologies. Full specification testing packages for gasoline, diesel fuel, bio-diesel, kerosene, lube oils, engine oils, etc. are available as detailed by such parameters as ASTM:
GASOLINE
Gasoline Testing such as:
- Distillation by ASTM D86
- Sulfur by ASTM D2622
- Copper Strip by ASTM D130
- Cloud Point by ASTM D2500
- FIA by ASTM D1319
- Research Octane Number by ASTM D2699
- Motor Octane Number by ASTM D2700
- Existent Gum by ASTM D381
EMISSIONS
Emissions: testing that covers both stack and vehicle exhaust testing. We can design studies to do screen testing that meets various process needs. Typical data reporting covers SO2, CO, CO2, NOX and O levels.
DIESEL FUEL
Diesel Fuel testing such as:
- Ramsbottom Carbon by ASTM D524
- Closed Cup Flash Point by ASTM D93
- Ash % Mass by ASTM D482
- Viscosity by ASTM D445
- Cetane Number by ASTM D613
- Cold filter Plugging Point by ASTM D6371
BIO-DIESEL
Bio-Diesel testing such as:
- Free & Total Glycerin by ASTM D6584
- Vacuum Distillation by ASTM D1160
- Acid Number by ASTM D664
- Water & Sediment by ASTM D2709
- Phosphorus Content by ASTM D4951
More...
In addition to these test, we offer a variety of testing for the following specifications:
- ASTM D4814 – Standard Specification for Automotive Spark-Ignition Engine Fuel
- ASTM D975 – Standard Specification for Diesel Fuels
- ASTM D6751 – Standard Specification for Bio-diesel Fuel Blend Stock (B100) for middle Distillate Fuels
- ASTM D3699 - Standard Specification for Kerosine
- ASTM D4485 - Standard Specification for Performance of Engine Oils
- ASTM D4950 – Standard Classification and Specification of Automotive Service Greases
- ASTM D5798 - Standard Specification for Fuel Ethanol (E85)
So if you need ICP (Inductively-Coupled Plasma Spectometry) by ASTM D5185 for additive metals, FZG by ASTM D 5182 or EP (Extreme Pressure) testing by ASTM D2782, FTIR Spectrometry analysis by ASTM D5292,5986 7214 or Four Ball Wear testing by ASTM D5183, again get in touch with us.
Additionally we offer data interpretation reporting by our in house STLE / CLS (Society of Tribologists & Lubrication Engineers / Certified Lubrication Specialist). So with an AISE, ISO, CEC, STLE, DIN, MIL or SAE specification we can help you. Our staff is well versed in refining and has a working knowledge of the petroleum distribution systems and retail outlet sampling and testing.
For lubes testing we employ several methodologies, many of which are cited by OEM documents. ASTM is the standard, but JIST, Din, ISO, USS, Mil specs testing, etc. are also within our abilities.
We employ the ISO protocol across the board for all testing.
Last but not least we offer a blending service that allows us to mix quantities of petroleum products up to ten barrels hot or cold for your finished products or QA sampling needs.
No project is too big and none too small.
